Hong Kong Watch announces new Policy Director
The Board of Trustees of Hong Kong Watch is delighted to announce the appointment of Megan Khoo as Policy Director. In her role, Megan will lead our policy efforts across the US, UK, EU and Canada, driving our mission forward in advocating for human rights and democracy in Hong Kong.
Before relocating to England, Megan held the position of Communications Director for an Assistant Secretary of the Navy at the US Department of Defense and gained valuable experience as a Press Assistant at the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC. She holds a Master of Science in Contemporary Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford, complemented by dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Studies and Modern Languages (Mandarin Chinese and Spanish) from Georgia Southern University.
Before transitioning to her role focused on policy and advocacy at Hong Kong Watch, Megan served as Communications Manager at the Committee for Freedom in Hong Kong Foundation (CFHK) in London. Megan’s passion for China and Hong Kong affairs ignited during her undergraduate studies in Southern China in 2019, where she connected with an underground church network and made several visits to Hong Kong.
We are confident that Megan’s diverse experience and deep commitment to our cause will greatly enhance our efforts.
